Where is he to here he is again

July 25, 2009 15:16 by rimey

All stuff happen so fast that I can’t really have time to catch up.

I post some sort of announcement few months ago, but I’m a bit reluctant to share it and finally I took it down. So here we are, let me start from scratch.

I’m juggling 3 works previously as well as at the moment.

-----

1 I used to work with this organization, but like I said, sometimes we need to get out of our comfort zone. Seek out what else is out there, move on, and grow up. Seriously, it was not an easy decision – oh well, maybe its easy to make a decision. I guess it is the true nature of me, always not satisfy with what I have, and what I achieved is somewhat not good enough. Because I believe if we act, we can do even better than we we did previously.

To conclude, I moved to another kind of boat and move on. Hoping to be able to improve myself and help others.

-----

2 As many of you know as well, I work as a freelance before and come up with a team RiM3Y.net. But due to my day job, I somewhat quit from my freelance, until recently. Looks like people still keep on coming and try to find me.

Rimey Development Network was formed and RiM3Y.net was resurrected. Rimey Development Network (RDN for short) was a placeholder or I like to call it the mothership for all the other network/team beneath it.

RiM3Y.net is now under operation purposes which handle all of our existing and new clients.

CroVe Network, which we acquired becomes research and development that provides sandboxes. It also consists of support team which we  called Edge Response Team.

IOXV Network, which was formed after RDN was formed, handle all infrastructure and design of our needs and clients requirement. It consists the team of engineers and developer.

In other news, I only work part-time in RDN as a Lead Architect. Other than that, you can see me spending my free time building my robots, playing rc, xbox, hacking my phone, or reading a book – yes I read books nowadays.

-----

3 My other works are mainly helping others with IT stuff. Assisting them with their IT infrastructure, building/designing website, etc. This is basically only for non-profit organisation and people in needs.

Few works had been done, and I’m looking into 2 or 3 more oganisations to help out.

EVERYTHING NEW

So what else is new? Didn’t you know that I moved all sites to Grid Servers already? It is fast at some level, but it also slow at some level. We are still tweaking it here and there.

The problem with Grid Server is that, it often lost your session and it is a bit frustrating when you have to login few times. Sometimes the database can’t catch up with the web and thus causing the site a bit slow.

Nevertheless, we are trying to fix it.

Hey what do you know…. the guys just fixed this blog this afternoon. Thanks guys! They brought back the blog data. Transfer the images. And connect back my twitter.

I know its not that easy. Because you need to copy App_Data, then edit master-site.c, then restart application pool. Sometimes the data won’t sync due to Grid. So you have to reset the processes cycles. Oh boy…. that is the Grid world! Let alone grid + cluster. Then cloud computing. Something we want to accomplish somewhere end of this year.

Site Migrated

April 2, 2009 09:00 by rimey

Finally done migrating my site to a new server. However, there are plenty more works to do as the new server is a grid server. Some classes are not working, so you may see blank page more often until I finally resolved all of the problem... :P

60 Earth Hour: Vote Earth

March 27, 2009 11:57 by rimey

In December 2009 world leaders meet in Copenhagen to agree on a post-Kyoto policy for tackling climate change. One billion people voting with their light switch during Earth Hour will create a powerful mandate for our leaders to take strong and decisive action on climate change in Copenhagen.

The final decision comes out late as I was away from Brunei. All of my friends in RDN decided to support 60 Earth Hour. Meaning we will be shutting down all of our website for 1 hour. Everything will be close except our client website and e-mail.

acquisition and development

November 14, 2008 14:53 by rimey

a possible solution to remove root causes of variances by acquiring and controlling interest in another alternative set

If you’ve been using any of Rimey Development Network (RDN) services including RiM3Y.net, you may notice that there is link to another site or team name Edge Developer Team. Edge Developer Team is the force behind CroVe Network. RDN and RiM3Y.net is 100% different and there is no relation at all with CroVe Network. Well, until recently.

Few months ago, me and some of my friends and Edge Developer Team were doing several discussion on the future plan and road map for CroVe Network. Weeks turn into months and offer turns into feedback.

…CroVe Network: background
CroVe Network provide a sandbox services to test some new application. They also specialise with Support Services and hosting of several web services remotely.

Wow… its already 3 paragraphs. Anyway, I’m glad to announce that RDN has successfully acquired CroVe network and it is now part of RDN family.

It will take us several weeks to several months to adjust to this changes before CroVe Network really integrated into RDN. Rest assure that there will be no interruption on either CroVe Network or RDN line of services. In term of Customer Support, all clients under RDN will now be supported by Edge Developer Team. This process is actually being done during this writing.

To conclude, no major changes will happen to both CroVe Network or RDN. What only happen is that CroVe Network will spread it wings throughout RDN, and RDN will be providing much more concrete services. More information on these changes will be announce as it become available.

innovation in action

November 8, 2008 13:09 by rimey

facility used for housing a large amount of computer and communications equipment maintained by an organization for the purpose of handling the data necessary for its operations

I’ve been moving from one datacenter to the other datacenter. I’ve been in and out to total of 5 datacenters in just 1 week. Sometimes I get tired of looking at those servers, leave alone my laptops and desktops.

image
*Just an example, its not the datacenter I work at.

Every time I went home, all I can think of was those comfy of my bed, the cold breeze of the air-con. Time to get a nap… Or hang out at the beach, listening at the wave. I rarely watch those satellite tv anymore. Luckily I got Media Center PC and connect it to my XBOX and watch all those tv series. Yea… I downloaded it using torrent 24/7.

For those who’s been wondering where I’m off to… Well… I’m still here… I just want to get disconnected from Internet (and electronic stuff, including phone) as much as possible. Beside… how much success worth for if its not worth living for.

Sometimes I wonder how much innovation human had made to give us more time space; but the more time we got the busy we are and at the end we forgot why we create the innovation in the first place. Is it what we called “innovation in action” ?

science of celestial objects

May 22, 2008 00:13 by rimey

phenomena that originate outside the Earth's atmosphere

It just so happen that this evening it is a clear sky at my place. So there is only a few minutes window for me to do a star gazing - which I haven't done for almost a few months. Haven't been playing with my telescope for a while, there is a dust/fungus all over the place - I'm lazy at taking care of it anyway. I'm just using 50mm d of telescope with 700mm f, and 10mm lens. I only spend like 15 minutes since I don't feel well, but I did manage to take few pictures - few means not many but it is confirm more than one.

Picture taken with: 72dpi (h & w), 24bit depth, f2.8, 1/60 sec exposure,

400 ISO, 8mm focal l, and 3 aperture.

Yea, the picture is not that nice. I'm thinking to get a new/better telescope, but I got shortage of cash after sending my car to the "car's clinic"... so, I have to wait for next month. Oh yea... there'll be a new iPhone next month, make it next 2 months then for my new telescope.

the celebration of it

May 6, 2008 20:09 by rimey

Its a double-post but same title:

an anniversary of the day on which a person was born

Note: This post await some pictures, check again soon.

I was having a hard time few days back due to some family errand that I have to take care of. Sometimes I wonder how normal it is that your friends try to give you some space so that you can deal with it and surprisingly they also support and try to lift up your spirit.

a person you know well and regard with affection and trust

I spend my birthday in the hospital since it was the day my dads operation - I celebrated my birthday the night before. How weird it is that sometime you feel like you are alone. But then, I received countless messages for my birthday greetings as well as prayers for my dad's operation. It was alot of messages that I have to reply to all of them using one generic message. What I'm trying to say is that, even though you are all alone, actually there are someone out there, who keep on thinking about you showing that they care.

When I just felt that everything went well, my dad's success operation, my meaningful birthday dinner; I don't expect anything else.

Ohhh I was wrong. My friends plan a surprise birthday for me, even though it was a belated - by 6 days. They've been acting weird for the whole day, sooo secrecy. Anyhow, we went to Charcoal restaurant, as per them they want to discuss something. Without knowing their plan, I just go with the flow, eating my sirloin beef steak - gosh it was the BEST steak I ever tasted for almost 3 months.

Towards the end of the dinner, I heard crowd of people singing birthday song followed by a cake. I just ignore it, and the funny thing is that the rest of group singing birthday song as well, and the cake was coming towards me. I was having a "momentary-blank" syndrome at that time and I just go ahead singing birthday song as well. Then... DUHHHH, it was a surprise birthday for me! Well, its not the grand birthday, only 4 friends, no fancy party like what I used to have... but hey, they give me a real birthday surprise which I haven't have for years. Its not about fancy party or nicest cakes, but its about the intention and sincerity that they gave me - apparently the cake also the best chocolate crunchie I ever tasted, plus it got Microsoft logo on it, custom made!

I did get another birthday song the next day in the office. Just another typical day of my life.

Note: This post await some pictures, check again soon.

"the science of analysis"
How an entity arrives at an optimal or realistic decision based on existing data.

I've plug alot of web analytics, but this one from Woopra really cool. I can even see live visitor visiting my site. It even allows me to chat with them live. Yikes, I need to write a review of this cool service at BlogZero soon!

p/s I blurred some data here on the picture due to some reasons.
